2020 recipient of the Audrey J. Harris Summer Internship Award
Like so many others this summer I lost my internship with the Division of Criminal Investigations due to COVID-19. However, I was still able to learn a great deal from my internship course which took place over the summer. I was able to make some contacts within the Madison Police Department and other criminal justice agencies. I was extremely lucky to have learned from our group of field instructors as they have a great deal of experience and knowledge which they passed on to us. While I did not gain any first hand experience in the criminal justice field this summer, I still learned about the multitude of potential careers available me and my classmates who wish to enter criminal justice careers after graduation. I still plan on going into law enforcement with hopes of eventually moving to a federal or state department as a criminal investigator. I am very appreciative for the scholarship I received and the experience I was able to obtain from this summer’s course.
