2022 recipient of the Audrey J. Harris Summer Internship Award
Interned with the Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation- Appleton Field Office
This fall will be my final semester of undergraduate studies at UW-Madison. In December I will be graduating with a degree in Political Science with a minor in Criminal Justice. Upon graduation, I intend to pursue a career with an intelligence community.
This past summer I had the opportunity to be a part of the team at the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation- Appleton Field Office. DCI is a law enforcement agency that investigates crimes of statewide nature and importance. This summer I was fortunate enough to be a part of their team and partake in statewide investigations.
Interning with the DCI has changed my life. The opportunities and experience that I received does not compare to anything I have done before. The amount of knowledge and information I have learned has been incredible and I couldn’t begin to imagine where I would be today without this internship. This experience has truly solidified my desire to work in intelligence.
I am forever grateful for the generosity of the Audrey J. Harris family for helping support me through this amazing opportunity. As unfortunate as it is that many internships like this be unpaid, the Harris family contributions have ensured that students such as myself (and many others) are able to have these wonderful experiences. Without the direct support of the Harris family, I do not believe it would have been possible to intern with the DCI.
