2013 recipient of the Audrey J. Harris Summer Internship Award
Interned at the Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation.
Major: Psychology
Goal: To become a law enforcement officer
The Division of Criminal Investigation under the Wisconsin Department of Justice investigates statewide crimes and works in accordance with local law enforcement agencies. Throughout my time at DCI, I was able to gain a variety of priceless experiences while connecting with the Special Agents on both a personal and professional level. I investigated a fatal fire, helped in execution of search warrants, witnessed an autopsy, wrote reports, and experienced undercover work, to name a few of my experiences. DCI Special Agents helped make the internship experience one of the most rewarding and exciting experiences I have ever had the opportunity to take part in. Through my internship experience, I have become more certain that I would like to become a law enforcement officer.
I am extremely grateful to be awarded the Audrey J. Harris Summer Internship Award. The financial burden lifted by this award allowed me to focus on my internship experiences and fully appreciate my time at the Division of Criminal Investigation.
