Genevieve Bates

Genevieve Bates is an Assistant Professor of Political Science. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia and a postdoctoral fellow with the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University. Her research interests include political violence and post-conflict politics, transitional justice, and human rights globally, including in the United States. She has published in Perspectives on Politics and the Journal of Human Rights. Prior to obtaining her PhD, she worked at the U.S. Department of Justice in their Office of International Affairs.
