Since 2001, Jane has worked in the Crime Response Program at the Dane County District Attorney’s Office.Jane retired from the Madison Police Department after 32 years as a Police Officer. She was 18 years old when hired, and worked to get her master’s degree in social work from UW while working at the Madison Police Dept.

While getting her Social Work Masters, Jane was an intern at the Dane County District Attorney’s Office in the Crime Response Program which deals with crime victims throughout Dane County.

Many of the victims Jane encounters will never deal with the criminal justice system since there are no suspects in custody.  Jane provides early trauma work with these victims and provides services prior to the victims being assigned to the Victim Witness Unit in the District Attorney’s Office if an arrest is made.

Jane’s husband is a retired Lieutenant with the Madison Police Department, and she has one son who helps her with the course Canvas site during the summer.
